The musician playing the instrument is David Haas, and he is sitting next to Pete Belcher, who was the maker of the instrument David is playing, and the instrument on the table. In addition to dulcimers, Pete has made several other types of instruments, including fiddles, autoharps, mandolins, and some types of instruments.

The 5th Annual Dixie Dulcimer Festival held in Tyler, Texas. Johnny Ray is the organizer of the festival. It is for 3rd through 5th graders. Three schools are represented. Two from Tyler and one from Houston.


 

It's great to our youth playing and competing in dulcimer competitions! Here are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Texas State Mountain Dulcimer Champions. The contest was held at the festival located in Glen Rose, Texas.
