Mary - hammered dulcimer - main instrument, then drums, guitar, pia
MaryMary Sparks I've been playing the hammered dulcimer for ten years and it is truly the voice of my spirit. Having performed in some manner for most of my life, it was with great pleasure that I discovered the dulcimer along the way. As a hammered dulcimer player I've performed in various venues...from coffee houses to large auditoriums, weddings to art gallery events. I've also been asked to appear on other's CDs and my music is featured in a local documentary on sustainable farming and a tourism video. Each performance is unique in that I play all original music, much of which is improvised and created on the spot...often influenced by the energy in the moment. My style of playing could be considered classical with a new-age/Celtic influence. For a listing of Asheville, NC venues played, please feel free to contact me.
