Are you tired of cold weather? Do you want to play your dulcimer with great people and enjoy some good food? Mark your calendars for the 11th Annual Lagniappe Dulcimer Fete March 8-11, 2012 in Port Allen, Louisiana. Port Allen is on I-10 just across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge and only about an hour from New Orleans.
Details and a registration form are available at the Lagniappe Dulcimer Society Web Site.
Our 2012 lineup includes Tull Glazener, Maureen Sellers, Neal and Colleen Walters, Guy George, Margaret Wright, Denise Guillory, Mary Z. Cox and more. The fete begins with a concert on Thursday evening (although we offer 2 pre-fete workshops on Thursday afternoon for a nominal fee, all of which goes to the instructor) and is in full swing Friday and Saturday (March 9-10). We close out Sunday morning with a gospel jam. The Fete is held in the newly remodeled West Baton Rouge Parish Community Center and the West Baton Rouge Museum. There are concerts each night, lots of good workshops for dulcimer players (both mountain and hammered) of all skill levels and lots of opportunities to jam.
Come pass a good time with us! Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulet!
