That's awesome news, Josh! Congratulations!

Let's talk off-forum about the date, and I'll see if I can arrange for Kendra to do a second workshop in Perkasie/Quakertown while she's in our area, so she only has to make one trip over here from Ohio!

Alright Josh, looks like you got the jump on the spring planning by securing a building already. I commute to Wilmington every day, so I'd be there as long as I have no family or work scheduling conflicts. I think some of our members would travel that far, a few of us go up to Pocono in the Winter, so Wilmington would be a shorter drive and in the spring instead of winter.

I am not sure where everyone is located....how close to each other you are, so if I say something dumb, sorry! :roll:

Josh, how many folks would come to your neck of the woods...would that include you, Greg?

Mousetrapezoid, I think you must be farther away from Josh and Greg? It would be great to do 2 workshops and it would be OK to not do them back to back too, unless we had some gigs in between, which is a good possibility.

Anyway, how does Feb., March, or April sound?

I'm excited too!! If we agree to host the event here at my church, I'm available anytime. I'm pretty flexible about traveling too. So whatever date(s) you all work out will be fine! I do suggest sometime in March or April rather than February to lessen the chance of snow messing things up. This is going to be fun!!

Yup, I'm farther away from Josh and Greg, and the QUADAS group's meeting-place is farther still. You know that Billy Joel song about "Allentown"? Well, we're not quite that far north, but some of our members come from there... and from points farther north like the Poconos.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to keep this thread going to see if there is more interest. We should consider getting something on our church calendar by the start of 2012 if we want to use our building. There are two times of the year that our church calendar fills up very quickly well in advance, and you probably can guess what times those are. Christmas and Easter! Our entire Spring tends to get booked with stuff quickly.

Good morning everyone!

I just wanted to keep the post going and to let everyone know that I have sent 3 possible dates as requested by Josh's church, for them to approve one. They are late Feb. and mid April. Hopefully I will hear back soon and I can put the date on my calendar. I hope ya'll will be able to put it on your calendars too.

I will let you know the date when I hear back. Thanks for your interest and I can't wait to set the date and meet ya'll!

YAY! I was just approved by the good folks at the Faith Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE to use their church for a hammered dulcimer workshop/concert!

The date will be April 28, 2012.

Mark your calendars now! I will put all of the workshop information up soon.

Excellent! I received word as well and will be handling letting you in the building and locking up, Kendra. :-)

If you need any more help spreading the word, just let me know, and if you have any promotional graphics you prefer to use, please send them to me in an email or point me to where I can get them online. I handle event advertising for some things at my church.
