Hello

Thanks for your interest. Yes it has three strings. Two long and one short similar to a banjo. Tuned AAD.

I just realized that you were in the video. What was the head and hoop made of, and the neck wood? When you say AAD, is that starting with the drone string? What is the scale length (nut to bridge)?

Thanks.

Hello

The drum is a small wooden childs drum that I found a Dollar Tree Store where everything is a dollar. The drum head originally was skin (probably goat) and attached without brackets or the ability to tighten the drum head. As I was building the instrument I put a strain on the drum head and broke it so I made a tension hop and put brackets on it and used real skin for the drum head but made it so it can be tightened. The kneck is made from oak to match an attachment I can screw on that makes it into a 4 foot walking stick. The scale is 25.5 inches and has the same scale as many dulcimers. the short string (drone) is a high A. The middle string is a low A. The first string is a high D. I use the middle string most of the time as a drone also.

Now that is absolutely awesome! I just love instruments built out of unique things. Great playing, too! Thanks for sharing.
