Forum Updates!!!!!

March 6, 2007

Hello Everyone!!!

It’s that time again for another New / Young Dulcimer Players Forum. Mark your calendars for March 13, 2007, 8:00 pm cdt. This forum is hosted on my web site at www.jeffhames.com or you can copy and paste this URL and go straight to the forum: http://www.jeffhames.com/forum.html

The topic is: To Practice or Not To Practice, That Is The Question. Practice Time! will cover the things that will help players accomplish more during their practice time and how to avoid injuries. We will cover proper posture, holding of the pick or hammers, holding your instrument, using straps, warming up, what to practice, making sure your hammered dulcimer is at a correct height for you (mountain dulcimers also if you use a stand when you play), making sure you are in tune to help train your ear, anything that will help dulcimer players get the most of their practice time. Here are some of the hosts for this month’s forum:

Aubrey Atwater , Ken Bloom, Lee Cagle, Sue Carpenter, Larry Conger, Steve Eulberg, Tull Glazener, Gary Gallier, Jeff Hames, Jon Harris, Carla Maxwell, Sarah Elisabeth Musgrave (will not be present during the forum but has allowed us to use information from her web site about her dulcimer related injuries), Erin Rogers and Neal Walters.

Come and join in on the discussions by asking questions that you have always wanted to ask or come and read along with the posts, there is no age limit and it doesn’t matter how long you have been playing the dulcimer. The hosts are there to help answer your questions, give advice or just to pass along some of their ideas so bring your questions to the forum.

Hope to see you in the forum on March 13.
