Registrations are progressing very well at Dulcimerville. One of the comfortable things about this mountain dulcimer week is that you don't have to "commute" between your lodging, classes and meals if you stay on site at the Blue Ridge Assembly, our beautiful mountaintop conference center. There are two buildings we'll stay in, next door to each other, the Blue Ridge Center and Asheville Hall, and the Assembly offer housing/meals packages that vary in cost to suit different budgets and mobility. Like our classes they are booking up so it's good not to wait to long! For details and registration forms visit http://Dulcimerville.com Housing & More page.

DON'T LET THIS GREAT HOUSING/MEALS OP AT DULCIMERVILLE GET AWAY FROM YOU!

Dulcimerville is June 4-9. Enrollments continue and lots of folks are taking advantage of on-site housing & meals at the Blue Ridge Assembly. A few rooms are still available in the Blue Ridge Center (tan roof in photo above), and there are some great low-priced deals for air-conditioned Asheville Hall (white/red roof). Don't let them get away from you!

Ukulele Fun at Dulcimerville!
We're fortunate to have on our staff one of Hawaii's best traditional musicians, Ehukai (pron. Ay-who-kai) Teves. If you own a ukulele bring it along! One of our evening options during jamtime will be a ukulele gathering he will have, where you'll get some instruction and just have fun! You don't have to sign up; all you need is to be registered in Dulcimerville.

'12 DULCIMERVILLE SCHOLARSHIPS

Dulcimerville is an independent, tuition-supported event with a very small profit margin, but we still like to support our dulcimer community if we can. With the help of a few friends and participants from the previous year, we were able to offer scholarships to the following people. Congratulations!

. Sarah Morgan, The Dulcimerville Mountain Dulcimer Performer Scholarship, sponsored by Dulcimerville and our ’11 raffle contributors.

. Ellen Icochea, The JoEllen Hudson Memorial Scholarship for an Adult Beginner Player, sponsored by the Shoals Dulcimer Club in remembrance of JoEllen, who was a well-loved dulcimer player and friend to many of us.

. Vance Young, The Dulcimerville “Gentle Side” Scholarship, sponsored by an anonymous donor.

. Caleb Holoway, The Dulcimerville Youth Scholarship, sponsored by Dulcimerville and our ’11 raffle contributors.

. Fran Ross, The Ron Cyr Scholarship for a “Super Senior” Player, sponsored by the Waterbound Dulcimer Club in remembrance of Ron, who spread joy and encouragement to dulcimer players at our events over the years.

. Shannon Tate, The Dulcimerville Scholarship for a “Super Senior” Player, sponsored by Dulcimerville and our ’11 raffle contributors.

PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR DULCIMERVILLE. FOR DETAILS ON YOUR CLASS CHOICES AND REGISTRATION FORMS VISIT HTTP://DULCIMERVILLE.COM .

Many thanks to all our student friends and staff who attended 2012 DULCIMERVILLE. Some of their comments are below. After 26 years of organizing these events this is the one we were proudest of!

Next year’s DULCIMERVILLE will be June 3-8, 2013, at the Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. We already have exciting plans and expect to have details on http://Dulcimerville.com soon.

“Dulcimerville had a great schedule, staff, camaraderie, a very comfortable facility, and worth every penny!”

“You at Dulcimerville are uniquely able to obtain first rate teachers who know how to teach and this event is organized so that each participant gets absolutely THE MOST. I loved every minute of my time in Black Mountain and it even exceeded my expectations. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for the dulcimer, the dulcimer world, and its people.”

“Welcome, friendly, helpful staff – beautiful & peaceful setting.
Best quality and fellowship of any dulcimer event I’ve attended.”
