White Springs FL in November

Postby Fletchroy » Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:31 am

Have heard there is a Dulcimer weekend retreat in White Springs, FL in November. Can anyone give me some details?
Cost?
Schedule?
Open to any ol' MD player?
How to register?
Any info would be appreciated. Will need to request time off if I plan on attending.

The festival is usually the 2nd weekend in November. It starts on Friday at noon and runs through Saturday afternoon. The concerts Friday night and Saturday night is awesome. It open to all levels of players. I am planning on attending myself. The park is located at the next exit off of I75 past the I10 cutoff. Go east about 5 miles into White Springs. Turn left and go about 1000 yards and the entrance to the park is on the left. Most people come from Friday and Saturday but some come for only Saturday. the cost I think is $95.00 for both days. Go to Stephen Foster State Park for information when it is posted.

David Beede:Hey Della - The Suwannee dulci/autoharp retreat is "on" for Nov. 13th - 14th. We have Gary Gallier for mountain dulcimer and Christie Burns for Hammered Dulcimer and I'm trying to get Ivan Stiles for autoharp. Of course most of the great usual florida gang too. Aaron, Bing, Susan, Mary, Ray Cheryl etc. I'm trying to get the info finalized by the end of this month. Will keep you posted. Thanks for asking.

Okay update!!!

Only another week away to the Dulcimer Retreat. This is a wonderful event and a fantastic location to play music. The Stephen Foster State Park is a tribute to Stephen Foster and the Museum provides information about the life and music of Stephen foster. There is also a Carillon that plays music every half hour and you never know who will show up to play on the grounds. One year we even had bagpipes playing on the lawn!
