It's 104 degrees and I'm steaming side sets!

The3 good part is that they dry out quickly.

The bad part is that I don't.

Yeah, well there may be a little insanity in there too. I've got a very big festival coming up at the end of next week and I am trying to get a couple of more instruments ready for it. Except for the side sets I've got earmarked for existing orders I've already used up just about every set and already completed shell I've had on hand. Since July 9th I've put finish coats on 20 new dulcimers. Waiting for the weather to cool down (along with things like sleeping and eating) won't be much of an option until August 6th.

Just soak the sides for a bit and lay them on the concrete. Self steaming and you dont have to deal with keeping the steamer full of water.

You can tell it's hot when the birds fry worms on the sidewalk...

Unfortunately no concrete around here except on the floor in my shop otherwise I might of given that a try.

Midnite.....and still 92 degrees.... sheesh.

No doubt 105 deg is hot. Much of my workshop is in the garage with no AC. My small band saw is on the partialy inclosed back porch. Gluening, sanding and things that can be done with a Dremel are done in the kitchen. Before my wife passed away about 11 years ago we both built several dulcimers in the kitchen. We have a lot of hot days here in the desert. I have some sides to bend and will try soaking them and steaming them on the concrete patio. Thanks for the tip.
