Round Robin Song-#1

Postby GrantOlson » Wed Mar 02, 2016 3:17 pm

Here is the topic where we will try a round robin song, discussed in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32290.

The rules are as follows:
-post up to 4 measures in your turn, added to a complete file of what has already been posted, either as a tabledit file, or a picture...anything that works for you. Only post what you are adding, not what others have already written; therefore there is no changing what other people have done.
-only people doing the song,(I'll list them in a single post later), are allowed to post until the song is done. Then comments are welcome. Also, no posting out of turn.
-if you are participating, it is your turn, and you get stuck, you may simply write PASS and the next person will post.
-hammered and mountain are welcome. The song will be in 4/4 time, no changing that. Chords are to be included in the song, and mode changes are welcome. However, the only notes allowed will be the notes of the D major scale, plus C and G#.
-triplets are allowed, but don't use sixteenth notes. For the first time this should be kept simple, and ornamations can be added as you play it yourself.

If you would like to join, put up a post saying: I will join.(Or something similar) We will begin as soon as we have 6 people saying they have joined, or else if it takes way too long we will just start. Once we are done I will post the whole song as a tabledit file.

I'd in, but I need Tabledit to read that file extension. I've order it but I'm still waiting for the email with the key.

Grant,

Progress on this seems to have stalled. Perhaps the subject "Song #1" is little too obscure. Perhaps it should be renamed to something similar to the "Round Robin Song" thread to indicate that this is a continuation of that thread.

Can we get someone else to participate so we can get this started?

Yes, it's going a little slow and I think one more person would be enough. If you can think of anyone that would be interested in this you could send them a PM. Hopefully now that we have new posts people will look at it again.

Guys, I was wondering. Do you think we should just start it? It might work with just three people, then other people might want to join for another song. I'd be up for it if you are.

I'm good to try. Put me at the end though to give me more time to practice with Tabldit. Seems to me there was a fourth member willing to try?

Jellybean commented in the earlier thread (http://www.everythingdulcimer.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32290#p371108), but I haven't seen anything from him since.
