There was a discussion just recently on putting tab on a tablet or iPad, even on e-readers. Maybe the answer your looking for is there.

Some are using iPads. I use an Asus Transformer as does a friend of mine. I don't take any tab books with me when I play now.

I haven't used my Toshiba Thrive tablet for jams or to store all my music, but I have downloaded music to it and then played from the tablet. Personally, I think I prefer the music to printed out, because it's a little larger for me to see (I admit I wasn't blessed with the greatest eyesight) and I can make notations on it, if need be. So, I can say I've done it on a limited basis, but am old school and prefer my notebooks of music and what's been memorized in my thick skull. But, in the end, whatever works best for you is the best way to do it.

One jam I go to uses a laptop. Several of us bring a stick drive with our songs on them, and the host downloads them into a file in each person's name. He has some kind of projection gadget and puts the songs up on a screen. I'm sorry I can't give more technical names than that, but I'm almost illiterate where 'puters are concerned. One of you educated types can probably fill in the blanks for us. The system works pretty well. He also searches for songs online when someone doesn't have a drive.

What is an "Asus Transformer" tablet? I tried using my Kindle for songs, but they show up as a PDF file, but are so small you can hardly read the tab. If you enlarge it it cuts off parts of the song. Would like to use a tablet if I could find one that I can read.

Asus is the manufacturer. Transformer is the model name. They are available at Best Buy and other stores. The tablet has a separate keyboard that you can purchase to turn the tablet into a notebook. I use it more now then my laptop. I have an app for the tablet for the music which cost 5.00 in the app store. You can do a lot with the app including enlarging the music if needed or putting the tab into groups and even arranging in playlist order.

Thanks for the note Dennis. Is this unit like the "iPad"? What are the dimensions of the tab showing up on the unit? Thanks again for your help. Where do you get the apps?

The tab sheet is about 70% of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. You can make the tab larger or smaller. You can search Google Play the android market forapps and search for Mobile Sheets which is specific for managing sheet music or tab.
