In case anyone is wondering why I disapeared in mid song last night ( July 13), we had a power outage that shut me down. I started to reboot butnoticed that there was a lot of thunder and lightning and thought better not,
See yall next Tues. Or if you are anywhere close by ,come to Lumber River Day at Lumber River State Park in Princess Ann , NC I will be there with my dulcimers.

Hey Mat,

Those storms were something, weren't they? I had a tornado warning just west of me a few miles. Stuck Ellie in her kitty carrier and put her in the closet - just on case!

Just where is Princess Ann? I couldn't find it on Google maps.

Princess Ann Landing is about 20 miles west of Lumberton. From I-95 turn west on Rt. 74 to creek Rd. Right on creek Rd through Orum, NC to Princess Ann Rd, about 4 1/2 miles then about 1 mile on Princess Ann Rd. to the park. The event is from 9:00 AM til noon.

I just wanted to say I joined the group last night and I had a great time. For those who haven't tried it yet, it is a live round-robin sort of jam. One of us needs to open the mic and play/sing a song. When my turn came around if I wasn't ready or made a mistake, my challenge was to produce something anyway and/or keep the song going kinda' like a live radio broadcast. There were probably 10-20 people in the group with some just listening and some getting in line for the mic when they felt ready. With that group size I had plenty of opportunities to play/sing something. Everybody was supportive and respectful and I hope my mic sounded as good as everybody else's mic. We played/sang some familiar tunes and some obscure tunes and I'm looking forward to next Tuesday. I'll need to learn some different tunes by then, I used everything I know on last nights jam.
Thanks
Dave
