Hi, could I get in on some of that Possum tab too. I think the song's sooooo funny and yet sad in a social commentary way. I'll send you my email address and hope you'll share some of that possum with me. Thanks, FF

Sure! I'm easy... not cheap, but easyEEK! LOL! This isn't the right thread to discuss this, but something the list-serv does is have a "tapeshare" where folks sign up, make a homemade tape of themselves, and the tapes are passed around in groups of say ten tapes - sort of like a chain letter. It might be something for us to consider here at ED.

The "tapeshare" thing sounds interesting KenH. How about a "discshare", maybe for those who have the capability of burning a CD, even those business card sized CDs (I don't. Yet. But...). Just thinking.

The problem with discshare, at least as discussed elsewhere, is exactly that not enough people have easy home access to $100+ disc burning technology; whereas almost everyone has or has access to a boombox or $20 KMart Special taperecorderRolled Eye

I was at a Sweetwater concert last night and 5# of Possum was their opening number. They are a very talented group. Dave

Folks, we have a modern tapeshare right here with ED. Just send me the sound file and I'll upload to our area on MP3.com for everyone. No need to cut CDs or tapes. Everyone's got email and Windows comes with a sound recorder. All that's needed is a cheap mic. In fact, with a little processing, the raw .wav file can be converted to MP3 format (much smaller) using a free wav-to-mp3 converter. That way sound files can be emailed from person to person. Maybe it's time for an article on sharing capabilities we all already have. Bruce

Bruce, that sounds good. An article on the capabilities of what we have and how to use them on ED would prove very helpful to some of us who view the computer as a fancy typewriter.

The other Ken's right (we Kens have that tendancy Rolled Eye). What we could use here is a How to "Make a Soundfile for ED" article, that takes a neophyte 'soundie' (like me) from pickin' to playin' -- that mentions software, step-by-step, etc. Even those of us who use the computer for LOTS of other things almost never think of it as a 'tape recorder' EEK!
