Blue Ridge Mountain Dulcimer Club

Began March 2012 to bring together players in the Shenandoah Valley area for jams, to encourage beginners and generally promote mountain dulcimer playing. Club has monthly jams at the Augusta County library; and beginners jams at The Bridgewater Retirement Community.

at Java Js Coffee House. Located downtown Bristol VA on State St 1/2 block from Paramount Theater.

Meeting directions: Java Js is easily found by coming to State Street and it is on the corner in the 2nd block from the Train Station and Bristol sign on the VA (north) side. The same block as the Paramount Theater.

Meeting schedule: Club Meetings are usually on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 3pm.

Meeting directions: Although we have members from several surrounding counties, we meet in Abingdon, VA at the church accross from the Abingdon airport at Exit 13.

Instruments welcomed: Our group is mostly made up of mountain and hammered dulcimers, but we welcome other stringed instruments. We've been joined by guitars, fiddles and even a harp.

Our club is more than 20 years old. We meet monthly in Northern VA to jam. Attendees come from as far away as Columbia MD. Tunes we play or have learned in past years are listed on our web page, as are instruments for sale. We are often joined by players of other instruments also, such as flute, autoharp, fiddle, and guitar. We sometimes meet at other nearby locations when our usual place is not available.
